What components make up an electric blind?
Electric blinds are made up of a few key components that work together to power and control your blind.
- Motor - Installed inside the roller blind tube during manufacturing, the motor powers the movement of the blind.
- Battery - A rechargeable battery powers the motor, allowing the blind to operate without mains wiring.
- Remote Control - The ComfyShade remote allows you to control your blinds wirelessly from anywhere in the room.
- Charger - Used to recharge the internal battery when required.
How do electric roller blinds work?
During manufacturing, a motor and rechargeable battery are installed inside the roller tube of your blind. The motor communicates wirelessly with the ComfyShade remote, allowing you to raise, lower, or stop the blind at any position to control light and privacy.
What do I need to purchase for my first electric blind?
If this is your first electric blind, you will need three components:

- Remote Control
- Charger
What if I already have electric blinds?
If you already have ComfyShade electric blinds, you may only need to purchase the motor for your new blind. Your existing ComfyShade remote can control additional ComfyShade blinds, meaning you won’t need a new remote for every purchase.
Please note that remotes and accessories are only compatible with ComfyShade systems, so existing blinds must also be powered by ComfyShade for them to operate together.
How many blinds can one remote control?
The ComfyShade remote features five channels, with each channel capable of controlling up to 10 blinds. This means a single remote can operate multiple blinds across your room or throughout your home.
