Halloween Homes

Halloween Pumpkins

October has crept up on us, and so has the scariest holiday on the calendar. With ghouls, goblins and all things gruesome, along with fancy dress and lots of sweets, Halloween is a frighteningly fun time of year. Here at Roller Blinds Direct we love getting into the spirit of things, and we’re super excited for the costumes, activities and food that Halloween brings. So excited, in fact, that we’ve decided to put together an interior design post all about October 31st. From pumpkin orange walls to ghostly bathrooms, these Halloween-inspired homes are a real treat…

1. Owning Orange, Pumpkin Style!

Pumpkin Orange Room

Orange is a daring shade, especially when straying from the safe bets of warm terracotta or soft peach into brighter, bolder territory. But this interior designer took the risk and it’s definitely paid off – who would have thought pumpkin orange walls, complete with a black tree vinyl, would turn out to be a seriously cool statement? By limiting the rest of the palette to black and white, colour clashes are avoided, with the combination of abstract patterns ensuring style flows throughout.

2. Scream For Green

Frankenstein Green Living Room

The statement wall in this oriental-inspired living room rocks a fabulous pea green, which is rather reminiscent of Frankenstein’s monster (though in his case, it’s the result of rotting flesh… Gross, but true!) The richness of the shade is complemented perfectly by floral stencilling, crisp white furniture and classy ornaments. We also love the statement black cushions, which add another layer of edginess. This scheme demonstrates that green is always a winner, whether it be mint, olive, sage, forest or even Frankenstein!

3. Deliciously Devilish

Devil Red Room

Red is another shade that must be approached with caution, as overdoing this colour can lead to a room that’s more garish than gorgeous. We think this room strikes the perfect balance, its mottled scarlet walls toned down by classic ornaments, conventional materials and vintage furnishings. Of course, we can’t ignore the touch of devilish fashion propped up on the sofa – a leopard print cushion is just the ticket to change a traditional room into a trendy one!

4. The Ghost In The Stalls

White Lace Ghost Curtains

Lace curtains aren’t the most sensible choice for bathrooms, but as this shabby chic wash room demonstrates, they add the finishing touch. Along with distressed cabinet, gilt mirror and traditional tub, it makes for an eerily beautiful room. We love the simplicity of white throughout with touches of silver – it’s certainly evocative of ghosts and ghoulies… Stylish and spooktacular, some might say!

5. A Vampire Came To Dinner

Purple Vampire Dining Room GothicMany are reluctant to go Gothic when it comes to decorating, but as this dramatic dining room proves, it’s a fabulous theme to incorporate into the home. Various shades of purple and a baroque, fleur-de-lis curtain make for a sensational space that Count Dracula himself would be delighted to dine in. A glass table and sophisticated Parisian prints add contemporary touches, along with the sleek black chandelier and black leather chairs.

If you’re looking to inject a little supernatural style or Gothic glamour into your home, why not opt for one of our enchanting roller blinds? We have a huge range of colours and designs that summon the Halloween feeling, including the Decorshade Colourwash blind in Apricot, the velvety red Louvolite Organza and the gorgeous Louvolite Laurel in Damson.
