Blinds for children’s bedrooms

A child’s bedroom isn’t just a room for sleep. It’s a studio for creating artistic masterpieces, a construction site for Lego skyscrapers and a stadium for performing to an audience of Teddy bears and Barbie dolls. Kids’ rooms are their own private spaces, and since every child is unique, every bedroom should be, too.

Though children’s bedrooms should be comfortable, practical and safe, there’s no reason why they can’t be full of personality. After all, a child’s bedroom is a place where self-expression and development take place, so the more exciting and inspiring, the better!

But as we all know, kids grow fast, and their tastes rapidly change. A princess room may be suitable for your seven year old, but in a couple of years when she’s a preteen, flowery wallpaper and pink furniture will no longer be suitable. Totally redecorating can be costly, and that’s why we recommend opting for neutral walls, flooring and furniture when decorating your child’s room. This ‘blank canvas’ allows for the room to be styled appropriately, and means that as kids grow and develop, their bedroom accessories can be swapped for more suitable furnishings.

Eye-catching prints, colourful cushions and vibrant lampshades are all affordable and effective ways to refresh a bedroom without breaking the bank. And the final touch? A stylish roller blind, of course! Here are a few of our favourites…

1. Sunlover Blackout Amelie Spot Blind in Taupe

This taupe, polkadot roller blind is ideal for a nursery. It’s gender neutral, so it’s perfect for those who want to keep the baby a ‘surprise’. While it keeps things light and bright during the day, this blackout blind ensures total darkness at night, helping your little one to sleep soundly. Best of all, with its pale colour and classic pattern, it’ll be easy to incorporate into a more ‘grown up’ room as your child matures and his tastes change.

2. Sunlover Sea View Blind

It’s often difficult to find bedroom decorations that’ll appease both little ones and teenagers, but this sea view blind does exactly that. It’s the perfect addition to the nautical-themed room of a budding sea captain, as well as a stylish accessory for the beach-chic bedroom of a teenage girl.

3. Sunlover Blackout Memory Lane Blind

The shabby chic style has no age boundaries when it comes to girls’ bedrooms. This beautiful design, aptly named ‘Memory Lane’, combines images of cards and postcards with pretty pink florals. Ideal for a pastel nursery, a cutesy little girls’ bedroom and a vintage-themed teenager’s room alike, this blind is a fantastic investment.

Here at Roller Blinds Direct we know how important children’s rooms are to them, which is why we have a wide range of blinds that are suitable for infants and teenagers alike. With options to tie in with every theme and colour scheme, you’re sure to find the perfect blind for your child’s bedroom.
