The very best roller blinds

Today, though the blind trade teems with style and sophistication, window blinds still aren’t renowned for their fashion. It’s a real shame, and many customers are still unaware of the huge range of stylish window dressings that are available. Gone are the days of dull colours and drab fabric – now, there’s a massive array of blinds out there, including our favourite, roller blinds!

We’ve decided to track down the very best roller blinds – we’re talking big prints, quirky designs and clever concepts. These blinds prove perfectly how roller blinds aren’t simply functional items, but fashion-forward home furnishings, too…

1. The world at your window

This roller blind is one of our favourites. What’s not to like about a huge map printed upon your window blind? The sheer fabric means the light is simply dampened rather than fully blocked from the room, and makes each of the coloured sections stand out. Ideal for the study of a keen geographer or the bedroom of a travelista, this blind is the perfect combination of style and intellect.

2. Striking serenity

Flower patterns are pretty commonplace when it comes to home furnishings, but this pink daisy design is a big bold twist on the usual floral print. The design is simple – a flower atop a pile of pebbles, reflected by rippling water – but against the crisp white background, it’s totally striking. We love this creative, contemporary approach to a printed roller blind!

3. Nature infiltrates

Ok, we know this effect only works for those of us who are lucky enough to have contemporary mansions in the middle of the countryside, but we still had to include it in our list of the very best roller blinds. Sheer fabric is a simple concept, but the result is fantastic when your bedroom looks out onto a view of sun filtering through the trees. What a way to bring nature indoors!

4. Shading the gamers

Gaming was obviously at the forefront of this designer’s mind when he created these Pac-Man inspired blinds. We love how the artist has used a collection of gaming paraphernalia to recreate the retro cult classic, including first generation Gameboys and early Nintendo controllers. The vivid shades upon a black blind is also a great choice, making for an even more punchy design.
